After School Clubs: FAQ
What is the Enrichment Club program? The Afterschool Enrichment Club Program is designed to
provide currently enrolled Waterman & State Street students with meaningful, engaging, and developmentally
appropriate experiences beyond the traditional school day. Our goal is to foster academic growth, social-
emotional development, and creative exploration in a safe and supportive environment. Through a variety of
club offerings, students are encouraged to discover new interests, build confidence, and strengthen their critical
thinking skills.
When will the Enrichment Clubs take place? Enrichment Clubs will take place once per week for a
5-week session duration. Each club meets for 1 hour directly after school. Waterman Clubs run from 3:40-4:40
and State Street Clubs run from 3:30-4:30.
Where will the Enrichment Clubs take place? K-2 Enrichment Clubs will be held at Waterman.
3-5 Clubs will be held at State Street.
What Enrichment Clubs are being offered in Session 2? Please see our Club Flier for details on the specific clubs taking place at Waterman and State St.
Can I sign my child up for more than one Enrichment Club? YES!
How do I sign my child up for an Enrichment Club? Registration opens February 9 th at 10:00am on
our website: www.SkanEdFoundation.org/clubs
What if I am waitlisted for a Club? Enrollment will automatically close and a waitlist will be created
in the event of a Club reaching maximum enrollment capacity. You will be contacted by phone or email if a
spot opens for your child.
How much do the Enrichment Clubs cost? The Skaneateles Education Foundation will be managing
and subsidizing the cost of the afterschool enrichment programs to make it affordable to families. Each club
will cost $50 per child.
Who will be teaching the Enrichment Clubs? Enrichment Clubs are run by certified, Skaneateles
school teachers. Prior to the first day of your child’s club meeting, you will receive a welcome email from the
Club Teacher with his/her contact information. Depending on enrollment size, some clubs may have high
school student volunteers helping alongside the Club Teacher.
Will there be Enrichment Club makeup dates? In the event of a school closure or early dismissal,
Clubs will be canceled, students will follow their normal early dismissal procedure for transportation home
from school, and a Club makeup date will be scheduled. Families will be notified by email about the makeup date. There will be NO make ups for students who miss their assigned club meeting due to illness or any other reason.
What are the drop off/pick up procedures for the Enrichment Clubs? Students will be dismissed at the end of the school day to go to their Club location (just as they would be dismissed for pick-ups or buses). Parent pick up from Clubs begins promptly at 4:30/State St and 4:40/Waterman. Students will NOT be able to walk or bike home alone. Parents/guardians will meet their child outside of his/her respective school building and will sign their child out on the clipboard provided by the club teacher. Students must be signed out by a parent/guardian. Late pick-ups are not tolerated and will jeopardize your ability to register for clubs in the future.
Will there be a nurse on site during Enrichment Clubs? No. Club teachers will have access to
basic first aid supplies only.
Will snack be provided during Enrichment Clubs? No. Anticipate a hungry child at pick up!
Why is the Skaneateles Education Foundation (SEF) running an Afterschool Enrichment program? SEF’s mission, through its partnership with the community, seeks to enrich the educational experience of every student in the Skaneateles Central School District. The Afterschool Enrichment program directly aligns with our mission and our commitment to create new academic opportunities for the students in our district.
