Overview & Purpose:
The SEF grant program is designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative instructional approaches that will broaden and strengthen the educational opportunities available to students at the Skaneateles Central School District. SEF will consider a broad range of requests ranging from all academic disciplines and all grade levels K-12. Grant requests generally range from $200-$1500. More expensive grants may be considered; however, significant lead time would be needed to allow SEF time to secure appropriate funding.

Grant Criteria:
Grants will be awarded for teacher-initiated and/or district-initiated programs or projects.
SEF will use the following grant criteria to evaluate and prioritize grants for funding.

Submission Deadlines & Approval Process:
Grant application due dates and approval notification dates are as follows*:
For each grant application submitted, the SEF Program & Grants Committee shall make
one of the following recommendations:

(a) approval
-
(b) recommend resubmission with modifications
-
(c) disapproval.
If recommended for funding, the application will be presented to the SEF Board of Directors for review and final approval.Grant applicants will be notified via email about the final status of their grant.
*EXCEPTION: The Jean Graham Fund Grant applications are due 1/31. These grants are received and reviewed by the Jean Graham Committee, not the SEF Program & Grants Committee.
Awarded Grants:
If your grant is approved, you will receive a SEF Grant Agreement Document to sign and return to SEF Executive Director, Amanda Ducharme. All grant awardees are expected to submit a Post Grant Reflection one month after the grant is completed.
The Reflection document will include a teacher testimonial, student testimonial and photographs of the grant in action.
